Howard Shatz is a photographer who started this mother/daughter project in the year 2000. He has been taking these photos of models from 50 different countries and the only thing he asked them during the photoshoot is to be their mom’s daughter not the sexy model.
He wanted to capture the origins of the model’s beauty and was insterested in showcasing how certain features translate from one generation to another.
I find this project interesting, the models are definitely more day to day ‘humans’ :) Posing and being sexy doesn’t make as much sense anymore…
“Women who have outer beauty are models, those who only have the inner beauty serve as examples. ” Jérôme Touzalin
“Beauty is relative. The pleasure, joy, or even pain lights up the face and gives it a kind of beauty that comes from within. ” Mireille Maurice
“Beauty pleases the eyes, gentleness charms the soul. ”
Voltaire
“A mother is like a rose that never fades. ” Jean Gastaldi
“Our mother is the most beautiful in the world”
